lucyandscotty: Scotty and I met in May of 2007. I had just started getting into riding. Scotty is pretty much a seasoned vetran. He encouraged me into long rides and a new appreciation for bicycles. In the spring/summer of 2009 we rode from Denver to Cheyenne, Denver to Colorado Spings, another century around the foothills, and participated in the Dirty Century in Elizabeth CO. Scotty has done numerous long trips independently, including his trip along the southern tier from Albuquerque NM to Valdosta GA. We have been discussing an epic tour since just after we met. Scotty got me hooked, and Scotty wanted more. We built our Surly Long Haul Truckers into fine rigs, aquired the necessary gear, saved up the dough, set a date, set destinations, informed our employers, and off we go!
